Camp Photographer Who We Are Camp Tel Yehudah's dynamic program of experiential education, activism, and leadership development connects teens to Israel and Judaism. As Young Judaea's national teen leadership camp, we are a community dedicated to fun, friendships, learning, and social action. About the Position The Camp Photographer is responsible for capturing the spirit, energy, and community of Camp Tel Yehudah through high-quality photography throughout the summer season. This is a specialist role with no bunk or counseling responsibilities — photography is the sole focus. The photographer works closely with camp leadership to ensure comprehensive coverage of daily programming, special events, and the moments that make TY unique. This role is preferably residential (room and board provided), though day arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. Responsibilities Photography & Coverage Capture high-quality photos of daily camp life, including programming, free time, meals, Shabbat, and special events Ensure comprehensive coverage across all camper age groups and program areas throughout each session Work with camp leadership at the start of the season to build a coverage calendar that maps key programming and events that must be documented Be present and available throughout the camp day to capture authentic, candid moments as well as structured programming Photograph staff-focused moments and community events in addition to camper programming Editing & Delivery Cull, edit, and process photos in a timely manner to maintain a current and organized photo library Upload edited photos to parent-facing galleries on an agreed-upon regular schedule so families can follow along throughout the summer Organize and archive all photos clearly by date, session, and event for easy access by camp leadership Deliver a complete, edited archive of all session photos to camp leadership at the close of each session Collaboration & Communication Provide images on request to support camp communications, including newsletters, emails, and donor materials Maintain a professional and unobtrusive presence during programming, always prioritizing the camper experience Who You Are You have a strong photography portfolio demonstrating skill in candid, event, and/or documentary-style photography You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment and can adapt to variable lighting and weather conditions You are organized and reliable, with the ability to manage a large volume of photos and meet consistent upload deadlines You are a people person who can build rapport with teens and staff and capture authentic moments without disrupting the flow of camp You exercise discretion and sound judgment when photographing minors in a residential camp setting You thrive in a community setting and embrace the energy and spirit of a residential summer camp Qualifications Experience in event, documentary, or portrait photography required; camp or youth-focused photography experience required Proficiency with professional camera equipment Strong post-processing skills Ability to commit to the full summer season June 16-July 22 required Compensation & Benefits This is a seasonal position. Compensation includes a seasonal salary commensurate with experience. Room and board are provided for residential candidates. Day arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. Flights reimbursed upon successful completion of contract.
