Summer Camp Sports Counselor

Job Overview Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Summer Camp Sports Counselor, where your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire children to develop their athletic skills, teamwork, and confidence! This role is perfect for individuals who love working with kids, enjoy sports, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a Sports Counselor, you will not be assigned to a specific group. Instead, you'll play a key role in running sports activities across camp — leading games, organizing tournaments, and ensuring that all programming runs smoothly throughout the day. Duties Lead and organize daily sports activities including basketball, football, soccer, dodgeball, and more Set up and break down fields, courts, and equipment for each activity Run structured games while keeping them fun, safe, and inclusive for all campers Manage transitions between activities and maintain a smooth daily schedule Encourage participation, teamwork, and positive sportsmanship Adapt games based on age group, skill level, and group size Assist with camp-wide tournaments, special events, and themed days Maintain a safe environment and enforce camp rules at all times What We're Looking For High energy and enthusiasm — you set the tone for the kids Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to take initiative and think on your feet Team player who works well with staff and campers alike Experience working with children (camp, coaching, teaching, etc.) preferred Background in sports is a big plus Requirements Must be at least 17 years old Available for the full summer season Ability to be active outdoors for extended periods Reliable, punctual, and professional Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, or childcare is highly desirable. Knowledge of sports coaching techniques and behavior management strategies to motivate and guide young participants. $2,500.00 - $3,000.00 per year
