About Second Harvest Food Bank Second Harvest Food Bank serves as the heart of a regional network of over 700 partner agencies across South Louisiana, home to some of the most poverty-stricken communities in the United States. Through this network, we are strategically positioned to lead the fight against hunger and build long-term food security by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response to those in need in our area.
DELIVERY DRIVERS
(Seasonal) We are seeking drivers to support our Community Kitchen. Drivers will transport meals to program sites using company-owned vehicles. The schedule is Mon.- Fri., approximately 6:00 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m. starting May 20th
- August 1st.
Duties:
Deliver meals to children across the Greater New Orleans and Jefferson Parish summer camps. Check-in and communicate with the Community Kitchen Shift Leader every day before leaving on a route and before leaving for the day. Ensure all paperwork is correct before leaving for deliveries. Ensure proper fruit, milk, and meal quantities are packed for deliveries. Communicate with delivery sites daily. Inform Supervisor of any new information or changes concerning a site. Record accurate information including food temperatures. Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain cleanliness while using Second Harvest vehicles. Serve as a program representative from Second Harvest. Maintain a positive and professional attitude with sites and other Second Harvest employees.Requirements:
Valid Louisiana driver's license (no CDL required). Satisfactory driving record. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Ability to count accurately and do simple math. Ability to follow and carry out instructions with minimal supervision. Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. Willingness and ability to load vehicles at the warehouse and unload at program sites. Comfortable driving around the city. Must have a cell phone, preferably with GPS capabilities.Job Types:
