Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
: Summer Math Tutor
LOCATION
: Aspen, Colorado (in-person) We are seeking dedicated math teachers to provide personalized instruction to students in a homeschool environment. The candidate should have a passion for teaching and the ability to engage young learners. There are open positions for elementary, middle, and high school aged students.
COMPENSATION
$75 - $80/hour
GOAL :
Our goal at Aspen Learning Lab is to inspire students to love learning through hands-on activities, curiosity, and positive reinforcement while meeting social, emotional, and academic milestones. We are looking for creative teachers who are passionate about learning and want to share that passion with our students. We are looking for teachers who are able to create engaging lesson plans based on each student's needs, pivot when necessary, problem solve, and think critically!
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Instruction The role requires educators who are not only capable of delivering customized lessons, but also of fostering a nurturing and challenging educational environment that inspires curiosity and academic excellence. Cater lessons to meet individual needs while staying on track with long term goals. Ability to pull from various curricula to ensure a balanced and engaging approach. Curriculum design experience is necessary as this role provides freedom for innovation. Support for Young Learners Balance the academic needs of the student with social/emotional learning, employing patience, creativity, and empathy. Foster independence, curiosity, and a love of learning in students. Communicate regularly with organization, parents/guardians about student progress and strategies for continued growth.
Qualifications:
Education:
a bachelor's degree is required and a master's degree encouraged.
Credential:
Single subject math credential (preferred).
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years classroom or teaching experience
Curriculum:
Ability to lesson plan and curate engaging curricula.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain topics and provide regular feedback to organization and parents.
Teamwork:
Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Assessment/Feedback:
Utilize informal and formal assessments to monitor and assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Additional Requirements Excellent organizational and time management skills. Provide weekly and monthly updates on student's progress. Comfortable leading with creative ideas, lesson planning, and curriculum. High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability. Authorized to work in the U.S.
