Job Description

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Summer RHDs will serve as a 30-hour a week summer RHD, participating in aspects of RA supervision, student outreach, programming, conduct, community building, housing check-in and check-out, building preparation/transition, projects, committee work, partner work, and training for summer school and generally Residential Life. The Summer RHD will also work on special projects to prepare for next academic year, including implementing training, reviewing departmental recommendations, and implementing SharePoint for Residential Life. Duties/Responsibilities Residential and Community Building (30%) Assist with selection of summer student staff Attend all meetings and trainings Supervise summer staff and direct their work Partner with Housing to ensure safety, security, and facilities management Maintain contact with summer residents and building community Respond to emergency situations and manage student crisis Partner and Campus Collaborations (20%) Contribute in tangible ongoing ways to the Division/Department through multiple committee workgroups, positive and productive team membership, volunteering to assist with identified needs and projects in the department and division of student life Actively participating in weekly department meetings Determine ways to serve as a leader in the department and at UNH by investing in the success of all staff in Residential Life and collaborators Training and Onboarding (20%) Serve as a team member by participating in summer Core discussions. Examples of summer leadership meeting topics include: Departmental recommendations Planning and Developing Staff Training and Opening Strategic conversations about the future of Residential Life Onboarding new staff Serve as the direct liaison for incoming new RHDs. Responsible for all communication and coordinating onboarding. Being a welcoming resource and manage move-in schedules for new staff. Other Projects (30%) Work with supervising Core supervisor to implement all projects assigned over the summer work period. Project examples include implementation of a new SharePoint site resource for staff (from design to final product), working to translate training materials from older procedures to new ones involving Workday, and working with Residential Life administrative support staff to implement office projects. Assisting Core with projects you are interested in, and that they need help with. The RHD will be given projects to work on with specific Core members. In addition to the larger projects the RHD will work on components such as staff training and onboarding. Serve in the AD duty rotation for several (around 2) weeks during the employment dates. Assist with updating department manuals/protocols. Assist with Residential Life responsibilities during New Student Orientation. Other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Director and Core staff.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and Previous experience as an RHD at UNH. Work well independently and flexibly. A desire for student outreach and individual contact. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Train RA staff to operate semi-independently once RHD training begins. High interest in reaching out to our new staff ensuring they feel welcomed and are receiving the information they need to successfully transition. Staff applying to this position will also have a level of competence in technology and ability to navigate UNH issued Microsoft products such as SharePoint.
