Job Description

Superintendent (Industrial Construction)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and manage day-to-day operations on industrial project sites. The Superintendent will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of industrial construction methods, and effective coordination with subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all on-site construction activities and personnel, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to project specifications.

Develop, maintain, and drive the project schedule; coordinate trades and subcontractors to meet milestones and critical path items.

Enforce safety programs and policies, conduct regular site safety inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Review plans, specifications, and submittals; coordinate with project managers and engineers to resolve design or constructability issues.

Conduct daily/weekly site meetings, prepare progress reports, and maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, RFIs, change orders, and punch lists.

Manage quality control processes, perform inspections, and ensure completed work meets project and industry standards.

Monitor materials, equipment, and labor resources; coordinate deliveries and site logistics to minimize downtime.

Coordinate with clients, owners, and third-party inspectors to facilitate approvals and maintain positive working relationships.

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to address schedule, safety, or cost impacts.

Mentor and supervise field staff, promote team development, and enforce company policies and best practices.

Qualifications5+ years of superintendent or similar leadership experience on industrial or heavy construction projects.

Proven experience managing large, multitrade construction sites with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Strong knowledge of industrial construction methods, equipment, and materials.

Demonstrated commitment to safety with OSHA 30 (or equivalent) preferred and experience enforcing safety programs on site.

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

Experience with project management and field documentation tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate diverse teams and stakeholders.

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make timely decisions under pressure and manage project risks.

Valid drivers license; ability to travel to job sites as required.

Relevant certifications (e.g., NCCER, First Aid/CPR) or trade qualifications are a plus.
