Job Title:
Mid-Level Construction SuperintendentJob Description This role oversees midsize commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through completion, ensuring high-quality results, adherence to timelines, and effective coordination of subcontractors and site activities. The Mid-Level Construction Superintendent applies strong construction management and project management skills to lead onsite operations, resolve issues, and deliver finished projects that meet design specifications and client expectations. Responsibilities + Oversee midsize commercial construction projects from initial groundbreaking through final completion. + Coordinate and manage daily onsite construction activities to keep projects on schedule and within scope. + Lead and direct subcontractors, ensuring they understand project requirements, timelines, and quality expectations. + Monitor construction progress and proactively address issues that may impact schedule or quality. + Review and interpret blueprints and construction documents to ensure work aligns with design specifications. + Manage site development activities and ensure proper sequencing of trades and tasks. + Prepare, manage, and complete punch lists to ensure all work meets required standards before project closeout. + Inspect finish work in commercial construction environments to confirm quality and compliance with plans. + Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress, issues, and milestones. + Lead project teams through project timelines, ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed on time. + Support and promote company values in daily onsite operations and decision-making. + Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite at all times. Essential Skills + Proven experience managing midsize commercial construction projects from groundbreaking to completion. + Strong background in subcontractor management, including coordination and oversight of multiple trades. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents accurately. + Hands-on understanding of how buildings are constructed, including site development and finish work. + Construction management experience with a focus on commercial construction. + Project management skills to plan, organize, and track project activities and timelines. + Strong people skills to lead onsite teams and maintain positive working relationships. + Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. + Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a dynamic construction environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience overseeing finish work in commercial construction projects. + Familiarity with creating and managing punch lists to close out projects. + Demonstrated ability to lead teams through project timelines while upholding company values. + Strong communication skills for coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders. Work Environment This role is entirely onsite at active commercial construction projects. The Mid-Level Construction Superintendent works in a field environment that includes exposure to outdoor conditions, construction equipment, and active jobsite activities. The position requires regular movement around the site, coordination with multiple trades, and hands-on oversight of construction work from site development through final finishes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bismarck, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
