Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Manager of Storm operations
Status:
Full-Time (Minimum 40 hours/week; hours based on project demands and performance)
JOB SUMMARY
The Superintendent oversees and manages utility construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role coordinates teams, manages resources, ensures regulatory compliance, and fosters strong relationships with crews, subcontractors, and customers to create a positive operational experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct field operations during storm events, ensuring safety and productivity of all crews Coordinate with utility representatives, storm coordinators, and internal departments Ensure compliance with safety policies and utility-specific switching procedures Lead tailboard meetings, hazard assessments, and timekeeping Oversee damage assessment, wire-down response, and restoration activities Provide detailed documentation of crew work and material use Serve as field liaison for the storm command center Monitor crew logistics, rotation schedules, and OSHA rest compliance Maintain situational awareness and lead decisively under pressure Support the growth and development of General Foremen (GF) and Foremen.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 10 years of experience in distribution. At least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of line construction, maintenance, and safety practices. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license; ability to travel as required.
