Job Summary:
Supervise and lead the Park City Ski Patrol training program. This includes implementing, delivering, documenting, and ensuring compliance with all safety and training programs. The Supervisor will contribute to daily operations, support guest and employee safety efforts, and help develop and enforce standards and procedures. This leader will directly supervise Patrol Training and all related tracking.

This position will lead and drive resort and companywide safety, training, and operational objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
With support of the patrol manager, oversee the day-to-day operations of Park City Ski Patrol, including all facets of guest service, guest safety, medical care, snow safety, mountain safety, mountain maintenance and lift evacuation. Manages first and foremost with the Vail Leadership Competencies and Values, using the behavioral anchors as a guidance on management style Foster a unified one mountain culture by reinforcing expectations and shared standards for performance and behavior. Possesses strong team management skills and has the capacity to coach and develop the team leadership skills of others including team leads, specialists and line staff

Support the enforcement of on-mountain safety policies and skier/rider behavior standards. Coordination of department scheduling, training, and guest interactions. Support incident documentation, guest relations, and code enforcement processes. Coaching and development of the training team leads as well as the trainers. Design, implement, and oversee training programs for patrollers and mountain safety staff, covering all core competencies, safety protocols, and departmental procedures. Track training completion, certifications, and skill progression for all teams; support performance reviews and professional development. Provide clear feedback and coaching to employees based on training observations and daily performance. Work collaboratively with patrol and overall resort leadership to deliver consistent operational support, manage mountain projects, lead and drive resort and company standards. Actively support the adoption of new procedures; encourage team buy-in and help others navigate change with confidence. Engage and motivate team members through recognition, feedback, and a positive leadership presence. Assist Patrol Managers with hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of new team members. Utilize internal resources and budgets (as approved) to advance department education, including outside courses or certifications. Actively drives efficient implementation of training programs and educational opportunities as outlined by the current collective bargaining agreement. Coordinate with other departments, teams, and EEs to ensure resort safety and training goals are met. Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
5 years ski patrol experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles with extensive ski patrol experience. Demonstrated experience managing: Out-of-bounds search and rescue operations Lift evacuations Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) response Strong interpersonal and guest service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proven skills in leadership, problem-solving, innovation, and team development are important. Safety-minded with a history of leading high-stakes operational teams. Must be able to handle conflict with diplomacy and tact Must be successful with influencing a positive culture, change, empowering the workforce and driving employee engagement Must have and keep OEC certification current Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays as required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to ski at a professional skier level in all snow and weather conditions, daily, for two hours minimum and up to eight hours at a time; Be able to lift (and ski with) a minimum of 50 lbs daily, if the opportunity presents itself. Must have frequent ability to lift, stand, walk, sit, and maneuver in all climate conditions on mountain, in high elevation territories; Must have full dexterity of hands and fingers to feel and maneuver in cold temperatures; Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in all weather conditions at a high elevation; Ability to communicate with our guests verbally - listening and talking in a calm manner; Must have good vision (corrected or not corrected) - with ability to see up-close, in the distance, peripheral, depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus. The expected pay range is $52,000.00 - $71,158.89 /Annum. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
