Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Supervising Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy team with enthusiasm and expertise. As the Supervising Pharmacist, you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional patient service. Duties Supervise pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA privacy standards Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions using aseptic techniques Lead patient assessments to optimize medication therapy management and support medical management initiatives Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans, especially in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, pediatrics, and acute care settings Manage inventory control, including medication stock levels, expiration tracking, and procurement of pharmacy supplies Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation and patient record management Provide immunizations and administer medications following proper protocols, ensuring patient safety at all times Train and supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring quality standards are maintained in medication preparation and customer service Qualifications Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the applicable state or region Proven experience in LTC pharmacy, critical care, or hospital settings with a strong understanding of acute care practices Completion of a pharmacy residency program is highly preferred Demonstrated clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on patient service and assessment skills Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pain management protocols Experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools Skilled in compounding medications and IV insertion techniques using aseptic procedures Familiarity with immunizations administration and medication administration protocols Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Previous pharmacy technician supervision experience is advantageous Join us as a Supervising Pharmacist where your expertise will lead a dedicated team in delivering outstanding patient-centered care.
