Day Shift Description:
Job Summary / Purpose Daily management responsibility for day-to-day operation of Centerville Environmental Services department. Primary duties include supervising, training, scheduling, and quality control of the designated area of responsibility. Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  • Participates in the hire, evaluation, counseling, coaching and disciplinary action of Centerville Environmental Services employees.
  • Helps supervise all Facilities Services staff.
  • Conducts and oversees annual evaluations process. Completes initial departmental orientation and on-going in-service of staff. Completes department/job competencies updating as required by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Participates in Six Sigma initiatives by leading projects including A3 project or being an active team member.
  • Prepares and leads EVS and Ancillary group Huddles.
  • Ensures that supply and inventory levels at West Lakes meet Lean standards.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff and monitoring work flow to ensure demands and customer needs are met.
  • Coordinates the inspection programs (ESC and Dazo) for Centerville to ensure quality measures are being met and reports results to Facilities Services Director.
  • Responds to guest comments and criticisms constructively and positively, and as an opportunity to provide service recovery.
  • Maintains and demonstrates a good understanding of the area control of all supplies, chemicals, equipment and personnel within Environmental Services.
  • Inspects check-outs and release to ensure required standard is met.
  • Trains and retrains Environmental Service personnel as directed by the Operations or coordinating Manager.
  • Inspects equipment daily to maintain clean condition and good repair; observes cleaning needs throughout hospital and submits written requests to coordinating Manager.
  • Assigns duties to staff in case of fire, internal disaster or community disaster.
  • Participates as a member of the Fire Emergency Team Responsible for monthly EOC tours to ensure compliance related to regulatory agency requirements. Responsible to follow-up and resolve any issues not meeting regulatory agency standards Other duties as assigned by manager Required Education High school diploma or GED, required. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
  • Three years experience in a clerical, reception, sales or supervisory position.
  • Computer experience (1 year).
  • Education may be substituted for experience.
