1. A Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a preference for concentration in physical education, sport management, or an allied field. 2. Valid Massachusetts certification as a supervisor/director preferred. (Note:

Previous experience as a head coach or physical education teacher is required. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of the overall operation of an interscholastic athletic program and the requirements of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association. 5. Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and with minimal supervision to achieve the objectives of the position. 6. Strong organizational skills. 7. Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be able to tailor communications for various stakeholder groups. 8. Knowledge of all applicable federal and state statutes, laws, and regulations. 9. The High School PrincipalJOB GOAL
To plan, coordinate and supervise the interscholastic athletic program and other student extracurricular activities.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervises and formally evaluates the performance of all coaches, advisors and related staff. 2. Supervises and evaluates the Assistant to the Supervisor of Athletics and Student Activities. 3. Works in cooperation with the Human Resource Generalist, the Executive Director of Talent & Community Affairs and the Superintendent to recruit and hire a diverse pool of qualified coaches and advisors. 4. Attends athletic and extracurricular events and provides site and safety supervision in coordination with other administrators and the behavior management staff. 5. Schedules all athletic events. 6. Organizes transportation to and from athletic events. 7. Promotes a code of conduct and ethics for all athletes and maintains a student athlete handbook. 8. Works with the Administration Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure equitable and inclusive access to athletics and other extracurricular activities. 9. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including but not limited to Title IX and Title VI. 10. Promptly and effectively responds to questions and concerns from coaches, advisors, athletes, caregivers, parents, and other stakeholders. 11. Works with coaches to develop strategies for responding to parent/caregiver complaints or concerns. 12. Responds in accordance with the District's established policies and protocols to any allegation of bullying. 13. Promptly refers complaints about potential Civil Rights violations to the District's designated Civil Rights coordinators. 14. Develops the duties and responsibilities for all coaches, advisors, and other staff members, as assigned. 15. Develops a schedule for inspecting and replacing equipment, jerseys, and other supplies and equipment. 16. Works with coaches to ensure that all coaches and athletes comply with health and safety protocols. 17. Supervises the work of staff and students assigned to athletic or extracurricular events. 18. Administers all interscholastic policies and procedures in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the Southeastern Regional School District and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). 19. Schedules game officials for all athletic contests. 20. Organizes sports banquets and awards ceremonies in the Fall, Winter, and Spring Sports Seasons. 21. Coordinates and oversees a program of non-athletic extracurricular activities, i.e., clubs and activities, that are responsive to the interests and needs of the student body. 22. Works in cooperation with the Administration and the Federation to review coaching and activity positions and stipends and to make recommendations for new positions and changes in compensation during contract negotiations. 23. Oversees the development, organization, and distribution of yearbooks. 24. Assists coaches, class advisors, and other staff in organizing events, school spirit activities, and celebrations.BUDGET/FINANCIAL
25. Develops a detailed annual budget and recommends purchase of supplies and equipment associated with Athletics and Student Activities. 26. Follows all District procedures related to purchasing to ensure adherence to the budget and compliance with accounting and auditing principles. 27. Oversees and accounts for revenues associated with concession stands and gate receipts. 28. Oversees all student fundraising programs and ensures that proper procedures for recording and reconciling purchases are conducted in a timely manner. 29. Develops bid specifications, prepares requisitions and provides for storage and inventory of all items of interscholastic supplies and equipment.OTHER DUTIES
30. Oversees the operation of the Wellness Center. 31. Enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and committee policies. 32. Assists the principal in verification of academic requirements of eligibility for student participation in each sport, club, or other student activity 33. Along with the Facilities Engineer, supervises and coordinates the use of the gym and athletic fields. 34. Works closely with parents/caregivers, alumni, and residents in the formation of a Booster Club to bring about the promotion of the entire program and its understanding in the community. 35. Works cooperatively with the administration and all people within assigned area. 36. Participates in staff and faculty meetings. 37. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Minimum 213-day work year, which shall include nights and weekends. The work year shall consist of 183 school days, including Open House, and 30 additional days. Non-work days shall be scheduled during school vacations or at such other times authorized by the Superintendent or designee.Position Type:
