Clarificion from the agency Open to Current Permanent FAA Employees only. Duties Help Manages a team th provides 24/7 operional support with roting shifts. Has full responsibility for overall administrive, technical, and operional direction of the assigned workforce consisting of ATSSs and support staff involved in providing critical Nional Airspace System (NAS) services to enroute and terminal air traffic control, commercial airlines, general aviion aircraft, in support of both U.S. and internional air traffic. Monitors and controls NAS performance and maintenance for approximely one third of the United Stes. Assists in coordining system performance with internal and external users to maximize airspace efficiency. Provides day-to-day tactical management of infrastructure services, remote management of NAS services/systems, and restorion and coordinion activities to maintain critical NAS operions. Provides timely upward reporting of NAS events and quickly assesses and acts to restore services with minimal impact to the NAS. Establishes priorities for restorion of services, systems, and equipment and collabores to provide real-time stus of scheduled and unscheduled interruptions to facilite continued safe and efficient air traffic control operions and mitige impact to NAS users and the flying public. Coordines with various internal/external entities on various complex and critical aviion technical issues to mitige activities from disrupting air traffic operions. Directs and assigns the work of subordine employees. Sets priorities and deadlines; assigns tasks and responsibilities; plans deadlines; sets standards of acceptable work; establishes work schedules and approves leave while ensuring adeque shift coverage for the accomplishment of work assigned to effectively manage NAS operions. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, detailed knowledge of the applicable Collective Bargaining Unit agreement(s), other administrive policies and procedures, and an understanding of the objectives of the organizion when communicing plans and stregies. Monitors and evalues performance, coaches and develops employees, identifies needed development and training, and delivers corrective/disciplinary actions as approprie. Provides advice, counsel, and instruction to employees for both technical and administrive mters. Examines and resolves complaints and grievances from employees. Work is governed by established policies, procedures, and organizional objectives th frequently leave room for discretion. The Supervisor resolves problems without the intervention of higher-level management and coordines resolution of unique problems with management. Regularly called upon to identify problem areas and to develop and recommend new policies and procedures for resolution. Crees and maintains a supportive work environment th promotes collaborion and open communicion between employees and management. Guides staff members in accomplishing desired goals within a complex and changing environment. Individual and organizional performance is reviewed periodically by higher-level management, usually through stus reports and organizional performance measures. The Supervisor has discretion to ensure the alignment of projects/programs with the tactical objectives of the major subdivision. Work activities impact directly on project/program objectives for more than one organizional unit. The duties have a direct impact on the NAS. Experience th demonstres an extensive knowledge of and experience in technology system interrelionships, and management of civilian or military automed aviion, navigion, and electronics systems. Generally, experience the next lower level Pay Band I/ Level IV or GS/GS-13 or equivalent, meets the minimum qualificions for this position as long as the experience supports the demonstred abilities identified below.
