Duties Help- Participe in the administrion and planning of a comprehensive fire prevention and firefighting and rescue program of a sufficient magnitude the installion.
- Serve as the on-scene commander of a fire/crash scene until relieved by the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief.
- Supervise fire alarm communicion center operions to ensure all firefighting equipment and personnel are dispched as required.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
The applicant must have one year, or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, of specialized experience a level close to the work of this position th has given me the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. To be creditable, one year of the specialized experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11), pay band or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as (1) controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; (2) rescue operions; (3) detection, reduction, or eliminion of potential fire hazards; (4) operion of fire communicions equipment; (5) controlling hazardous merials incidents and/or (6) developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention.Ideal Candide Stement:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAs): Your qualificions evalued on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the theory, principles, methods, techniques, and practices of firefighting and rescue operions. 2. Knowledge of the operion of fire department communicions equipment. 3. Ability to opere and direct others in opering under stressful and dangerous conditions. 4. Ability to formule and effectively implement fire fighting/emergency response plans and to direct personnel in such operions. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and to mentor, motive, and appraise the staff of an organizion. The incumbent of this position must be certified by the DoD Fire and Emergency Services Fire Fighter Certificion system as Fire Officer III, Fire Service Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, Hazm Incident Commander, and Airport Firefighter. Employee is required to work a 72 hour workweek on a 24 hour on 24 hour off basis which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. May be subject to recall. May be required to participe in on-scene fire fighting duties during emergencies, low manning periods, or during stand-by hours. These duties require heavy lifting and physical exertion.PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
