reviews $60,000•$65,000 a year•Full-time Position Summary Ironwood Plastics is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure our suppliers consistently meet or exceed quality expectations. This role is critical as the primary point of contact with our supply base, directly impacting the quality of materials and components entering our facility. The ideal candidate will lead supplier quality initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and serve as a hands-on partner to our suppliers. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary contact for supplier quality performance and expectations Lead supplier-related problem solving and corrective actions Monitor, analyze, and report supplier quality metrics and performance Participate in supplier selection and qualification processes Coordinate and oversee PPAP activities and new product launches with suppliers Support APQP activities including PFMEA, control plans, and process flows Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives Provide training and guidance to suppliers to improve quality and processes Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Materials teams Maintain compliance with internal quality systems and industry standards Travel Requirement Travel is expected to be approximately 25% , but will vary based on business needs. Travel may increase or decrease depending on supplier issues, audits, and project demands. Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent manufacturing experience Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality engineering Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Minitab or Visio a plus Experience with quality systems and auditing practices preferred Additional Skills Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with external suppliers Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement Work Environment This position works in both office and manufacturing settings and may involve time on the production floor and at supplier locations About Ironwood Plastics Ironwood Plastics is a family-oriented company with over 45 years of experience delivering high-quality custom injection molded products.
