Job Description

Description St. Croix Health is currently seeking Supply Chain Assistant-Peri Op to join our Supply Chain team. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that will work Monday through Friday, typically day shifts. The Perioperative Supply Chain Assistant provides clinically aligned supply chain oversight for Surgical Services. Responsible for operating room purchasing, contract governance, case cart supply oversight, vendor performance management and financial stewardship of perioperative supply expense. Serves as the operational and financial liaison between Surgical Services and Material Management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Operational Oversight Management of purchasing, requisitioning and ordering for Surgical Services Oversee disposable supply configuration within case carts Ensure preference card supply alignment and accuracy Coordinate vendor access and product transitions Mitigate backorders and supply disruptions with direction from Surgical Services leaders Complete year-end inventory for Surgical Services Assist with daily freight unpacking and restocking for Surgical Services related supplies Set up and maintain PAR areas throughout OR Sterile supply, Anesthesia room, and suture room 2. Contract, Vendor, and Financial Accountability Ensure group purchasing organization (GPO) contract compliance for surgical supplies and implants Review and monitor vendor compliance with contract terms Support contract evaluation, renewal and negotiation Validate pricing accuracy on purchase orders and invoices Monitor trends on surgical supply expenses Identify standardization and cost control opportunities Participate in value analysis team (VAT) discussions impacting perioperative supplies and equipment 3. Governance & Reporting Provide monthly visibility into surgical supply expenses and contract compliance Monitor vendor performance and utilization trends within Surgical Services Monitor expired and obsolete inventory within surgical areas Support forecasting related to service line growth or new procedures Maintain accountability for vendor performance within Surgical Services 4. Case Cart Alignment Maintain ownership of disposable supply configuration, preference card supply accuracy and PAR optimization within case carts • While this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, management reserves the right to modify, add or remove duties from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary.
Requirements Education & Licensure:
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's degree in supply chain, business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in perioperative supply chain, OR materials, or healthcare procurement highly desired Previous Operating Room Supply experience preferred
Competencies:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of surgical services operations Experience working with GPO contracts, vendor compliance, inventory systems, or pricing validation Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization Ability to work independently Effective interpersonal skills, including good listening and communication skills Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately Adjust to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
