Job Description

The Supply Technician Lead for the Ammo Supply Point (ASP) is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and assist in oversight of daily operations and ensuring efficient operations within the ASP. This role requires effective management of both personnel and resources and includes the maintenance of equipment, coordination of work orders, and instruction of post ammunition handlers' class to ensure the highest standards of ammunition handling and supply chain operations are met. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Supervise and Train Personnel:
Lead, mentor, and supervise warehouse specialists and truck driver in their daily duties and responsibilities. Conduct training sessions to ensure all personnel are proficient in ammunition handling and supply protocols. Ensure high standards in certifications of warehouse specialists.
Maintenance Program Management:
Oversee the ASP maintenance program for equipment, including lifts and High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs). Coordinate and ensure timely repairs and maintenance to maximize operational efficiency. Coordinate the calibration of scales through TMDE as required.
Facility Work Orders:
Handle work orders submitted to the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) for facility maintenance and repairs, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely execution.
Ammunition Handlers Training:
Teach the post Ammunition Handlers Class as scheduled, ensuring supported units are effectively trained for their roles in safe and compliant ammunition operations. Develop and facilitate additional training classes for various units as requested to enhance ammunition handling proficiency across the post.
Commercial Truck Operations:
Supervise all commercial truck operations to ensure safe and efficient transportation and unloading of ammunition and supplies. Schedule turn-ins with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and manage recycling efforts.
Logistics Coordination:
Ensure all truck drivers are provided with the necessary information regarding loads for scheduled appointments. Collaborate with various departments to coordinate logistics and operational activities.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; advanced training or certifications in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
Experience:
Must have leadership and management experience in Ammo Supply Point (ASP) management or related field, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role. Must be knowledgeable of receiving, inspection, and storage procedures as outlined in
DA PAM 385-64, FM
9-13, and
DA PAM 710-2-2.
Must have a working knowledge of applicable ARs, TMs, DA PAMs, DoD, FORSCOM and TRADOC Regulations. Certification is required, IAW TRADOC Reg 350-30 for all employees involved in munitions operations.
Skills:
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of regulations and standards related to ammunition handling and storage. Mindset of mission first and safety always.
Desired Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing ammunition supply operations.
Physical Demands & Working Environment:
Ability to lift and move heavy items, including equipment and supplies. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and environments associated with warehouse operations.
