Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Suppression Service Technician to our team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining pre-engineered wet chemical and dry chemical fire suppression systems. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, a customer-focused mindset, a commitment to code compliance and safety, and the drive to deliver quality workmanship on every job.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality, courteous service, and by applying experience, knowledge, and training. Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on commercial suppression systems including kitchen suppression, paint booths, fire extinguishers, and clean agent systems. Conduct periodic inspections to ensure compliance with applicable fire and life safety codes. Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings or recommended repairs to customers and management. Provide detailed feedback on deficiencies and necessary repairs. Present a neat, professional appearance and demeanor. Maintain a high level of service and quality upon which our business has been built. Required participation in the on-call rotation. Utilize an online scheduling calendar to receive and understand individual scheduled tasks, customer locations, and maintain other company documents as required (timesheets, safety audits, etc.). Turn in required paperwork in a timely manner. Maintain equipment, supplies, and company vehicle in good working order. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Stay current with code requirements, industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in fire suppression systems or a related field is preferred. Prior trade experience (2 years) a plus. Previous experience within the fire protection industry preferred. Good verbal/written communication and customer service skills to clearly and concisely communicate with customers. Mechanical and math aptitude. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend schematics and technical manuals. Demonstrated ability to use diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and programmers. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
