Surgery Scheduler Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler/Front Desk Receptionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and communicated effectively between patients, surgeons, and medical staff. This role is crucial in maintaining a smooth workflow within the surgical department and enhancing patient service. Duties Schedule surgeries and procedures in accordance with physician availability and patient needs. Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details. Communicate with patients regarding pre-operative instructions and follow-up appointments. Coordinate with various departments to ensure all necessary resources are available for scheduled surgeries. Maintain accurate records of scheduled surgeries, cancellations, and rescheduling requests. Assist with medical coding and billing processes as needed. Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Support front desk operations as required, including managing phone calls and patient check-ins. Experience Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, particularly in roles related to scheduling or front desk operations. Familiarity with medical collection processes and health information management is advantageous. Experience in a hospital or clinic environment is beneficial. Knowledge of medical coding practices is a plus. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
