Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a vital role within a renowned teaching hospital, recognized for its Level 1 Trauma and Magnet designations and dedication to cutting-edge patient care. The Surgical Technologist position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-acuity environment with a team of experienced professionals and supportive leadership.
Schedule & Hours:
12-hour day shifts, 0700-1900 (36 hours per week)
Call:
Late call (1900-2300) once per week; one weekend call shift every 6-8 weeks (0600 Saturday - 0600 Monday) with a 1-hour response time Weekend rotation is call-only; 50% holiday coverage expected per contract
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center (no Level III or below) Graduate of an accredited surgical tech program; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred Active BLS certification required Strong skills in ortho trauma, head/neck free flaps (plastics reconstruction), microsurgery, general surgical procedures, robotics (DaVinci XI), and minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgeries Experience with neuro/spine, transplantation, deep flap reconstructions, airways, and complex oncology procedures (GYN, ortho, surgical) First-time travelers are not eligible Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments Assist surgeons and registered nurses during various complex procedures Operate advanced technologies including EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell dispensing systems Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including anesthesia, clinical supervisors, and support staff Participate in new employee orientation and foster an environment centered on teamwork and patient safety
