Job Description

Overview Plans, organizes and executes the assembly of surgical case supplies for the Surgery department and Outpatient Surgery Pavilion. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring of supplies, this includes maintaining and updating the computer inventory management system as well as utilizing material management systems for receiving, adjustments and information. Serves as a liaison for surgical services; OR staff, coordinators, and leadership for surgical supply mgmt. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities /
Essential Functions:
 Has an in-depth understanding of operating room supplies in all surgical specialties. Utilizes
PICIS-OR
Management system to assemble surgical case supplies. Assembles surgical case supplies for Surgery Department and Outpatient Surgical Pavilion. Maintain, monitor, rotate, and help stock supplies. Assists with inventory and organization of materials and supplies. Cleans and maintains transport containers in functioning condition. Has a working knowledge of AAMI and AORN guidelines to maintain supply sterility and integrity. Places priority on the availability of and accuracy of supplies needed in surgical services. Flexible to schedule; performs all other related duties as assigned or requested. Performs work according to rules, regulations, policies and guidelines; complies with standards in the Code of Conduct.
Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required Education:
High School education or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Understanding of AAMI and AORN guidelines to maintain supply sterility and integrity are preferred.

Previous surgical materials experience preferred, or hospital inventory control, or on-the-job training. Basic computer skills. Additional Skills/Abilities  Must demonstrate excellent customer service orientation. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Ability to work closely with others, creating team cohesiveness. Must be flexible.
