is the foundation of Stanford's patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions. The Surgical Technologist acts as a member of the cross functional surgical team in providing patient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Prepare the appropriate instrumentation and materials for use on the surgical field, passing instruments to the surgeon during the procedure, room turnover and may act as a resource or preceptor in assigned service when requested. Required & Essential CST II Level Responsibilities Performs duties and responsibilities of CST I and the required duties listed below Functions independently in majority of services with minimal assistance. Capable of performing common emergency cases proficiently Solves problems rapidly with changes in the clinical situation Anticipates availability of equipment and prioritizes usage Completes at least one improvement project per evaluation year Sets up equipment independently Demonstrates critical thinking capabilities Keep ongoing log/portfolio of achievement/verification delivered annually during evaluation. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role in the majority of surgical procedures as defined by SHC. Applies knowledge related to emergency situation and surgical procedures in the operating room Additionally, the CST II will meet, at minimum, 2 of the following 4Supplementary Responsibilities:
Supplementary CST II level Responsibilities Acts as a preceptor Serves as a contributing member on one unit based committee or taskforce In conjunction with other team members, provides one (1) in-service per year in a related specialty service Assists with orientation of new employees, students, and staff- This is a Stanford Health Care job.

- Experience Qualifications
- + Two (2) or more years of experience
- Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- + Ability to provide comfort and support for perioperative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient's care/privacy + Ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of the individual taking into consideration age, culture, and developmental issues.

- + BLS - Basic Life Support + CST - Certified Surgical Tech preferred

Base Pay Scale:
Generally starting at $53.41 - $60.15 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
