Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting surgical teams with expertise in perioperative patient care and instrument management. This opportunity is open to professionals skilled in Nursing - ORT and certified as Surgical Technologists, seeking to make a difference in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required Demonstrated experience or training in Operating Room Technology (ORT) Comprehensive understanding of sterilization, infection control, and aseptic techniques Proficiency assisting in various surgical specialties and adapting to fast-paced environments Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia personnel Ability to anticipate needs of the surgical team and maintain composure under pressure Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Flexibility to accommodate variable shift needs and emergency cases
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare and organize the operating room, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready before procedures Assist the surgical team during operations by providing necessary instruments and surgical materials, adhering to sterile technique standards Confirm proper identification and counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgery Support pre-operative and post-operative patient care activities as directed Ensure that all necessary documentation, specimens, and items are accurately managed and processed Participate in maintaining a safe environment, promptly addressing hazards or equipment malfunctions Demonstrate commitment to patient safety and continuous quality improvement Benefits include access to professional development resources and the chance to work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals in a collaborative environment.
