Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a vital role that supports high-quality patient care and surgical outcomes. You will work collaboratively with a skilled perioperative team in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment, providing essential support before, during, and after a variety of procedures. Your expertise as a nursing professional or surgical technologist ensures safe, efficient operating room operations.
Schedule/Hours:
Flexible scheduling is available to meet the needs of the surgical department
Key Qualifications:
Experience as an ORT (Operating Room Technician) or Surgical Tech in a hospital or ambulatory surgical setting Surgical Tech Certification preferred, but open to both certified and non-certified candidates Strong understanding of sterile technique, instrumentation, and OR protocols Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Excellent communication skills and attention to detail under pressure Ability to adapt quickly to changing cases and environments
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments and equipment according to procedure requirements Assist surgeons and nurses during operations, anticipating needs and managing sterile fields Effectively handle and count surgical instruments, supplies, and sponges before, during, and after procedures Support surgical team by passing instruments and supplies as requested throughout procedures Safely transport patients to and from the operating room as needed Maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety guidelines Ensure timely documentation of procedure details and equipment usage
