Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Step into an essential perioperative nursing role, providing advanced first-assist and second-assist support for cardiac surgical patients in a dynamic, fast-paced operating room environment. In this contract position, you will collaborate closely with attending physicians, ensuring exceptional patient safety and optimal surgical results throughout the perioperative period. Schedule/Hours:

Regional call coverage to assist the Cardiac Surgery program.

Key Qualifications:

Valid RN license with active credentials and good standing. Certified in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR) preferred. RN First Assist (RNFA) education/certification required. BLS and ACLS certification as required by standards of care. Demonstrated experience assisting in cardiac surgical cases. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities. Excellent interpersonal communication and collaborative skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide intraoperative RNFA support, primarily second assisting during cardiac surgeries. Aid the surgeon in maintaining optimal exposure, hemostasis, instrument handling, suturing, and tissue closure. Participate in regional on-call rotation to support the Cardiac Surgery program as needed. Conduct comprehensive preoperative and postoperative assessments and interventions, ensuring continuity and quality of care. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with perioperative safety protocols.
