Survey Party Chief

Overview Seeking a motivated and experienced Survey Party Chief to lead a field crew on a variety of projects in western Washington. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, extensive field experience, and a thorough understanding of surveying methods, technology, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage survey crews in the field on diverse project types Operate and maintain surveying equipment including robotic total stations, GPS systems, and other instruments Perform field data collection, calculations, and construction staking Ensure accuracy and completeness of field notes, computation sheets, and data files Coordinate workflow and act as the primary point of contact for crew personnel Interact professionally with clients, contractors, and property owners Maintain adherence to safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment Travel to job sites and work in varying outdoor conditions Must be available for occasional overtime as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check Strong knowledge of surveying procedures, standards, and best practices Proficiency with survey field equipment and software Opportunities to work on a variety of challenging projects This is a full time, paying hourly for 40 hours per week plus overtime paid at 1.5 times hourly rate.
