Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry. Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety and sanitation standards. Plan menus that highlight fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient freshness and ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with restaurant staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences through timely service. Demonstrate excellent knife skills for slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients with accuracy. Qualifications Proven experience in sushi preparation or fine dining culinary environments. Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards. Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and meal presentation. Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus. Familiarity with catering, food service, and restaurant operations preferred. Demonstrated culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine or seafood dishes. Excellent knife skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
