Job Summary :

Cleaner/Maintenance is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and performing minor repairs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This includes tasks like sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste disposal, as well as identifying and addressing minor maintenance issues.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning:

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in all areas of the facility. Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas. Empty trash and recycling bins and disposal of waste according to company policy. Clean production equipment and machinery as needed, following safety guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized work area

Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance issues. Perform minor repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and repairing minor damage to walls or doors. Assist with more complex maintenance tasks under the supervision of a maintenance supervisor or technician. Ensure that safety equipment (fire extinguishers, etc.) is in good working order. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Other:

Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed. May be required to perform tasks outside of normal work hours on occasion. May be required to work with hazardous materials following proper safety protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

Physical ability: Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Attention to detail:

Must be able to identify and address maintenance issues and maintain a high level of cleanliness.

Problem-solving skills:

Must be able to identify and troubleshoot minor maintenance issues.

Ability to follow instructions:

Must be able to follow safety procedures and work instructions.

Teamwork and communication:

Must be able to work effectively with other employees and communicate maintenance needs.

Experience with cleaning equipment:

Experience with operating vacuums, floor polishers, and other cleaning equipment is helpful.

Knowledge of safety procedures:

Knowledge of proper safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment is essential.
