Job Description

Company Overview Camp Gan Israel of Rockland is a private, Jewish Day Camp serving campersfrom Nursery through 5th grade. We have an inground outdoor heated pool at our beautiful grounds in New City, NY. Though are campers are Jewish, many of our staff are not. We have a very open and welcoming environment. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Swim Instructor to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will teach swimming skills and water safety to students of various ages and skill levels, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere. Your enthusiasm will inspire confidence in learners while ensuring their safety during every lesson. Responsibilities Deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to individual student needs and skill levels Teach water safety practices and basic swimming techniques in a fun, supportive manner Monitor campers closely during lessons to ensure safety and proper technique Foster a positive environment that encourages confidence, teamwork, and perseverance Maintain clean and organized swimming facilities, including pool areas and equipment Track camper progress and provide feedback to camp administration Enforce safety rules and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral issues Requirements Prior experience as a Lifeguard Knowledge of swimming techniques, water safety protocols, and behavior management strategies Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and skill levels Strong communication skills to motivate campers Certification in Lifeguarding. WSI certification is preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire Minimum age: 17 years old, though we prefer someone over 21.
