MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR
LICENSURE
1. High school diploma or equivalent.

LICENSURE
1. One (1) year experience in customer service.
CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates telecommunication equipment to provide communication service to hospital departments, patient care areas, and physicians. 2. Receives incoming calls and connects them as requested. 3. Monitors alarms such as fire, emergency, security, and telecommunications equipment. 4. Announces emergency codes and activates pagers and other communication devices. 5. Relays and route written and verbal messages. 6. Identifies problems with communication devices and takes appropriate action. 7. Documents required information in appropriate logs 8. Utilizes crisis intervention skills when dealing with callers/emergency situations.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 2. Ability to operate basic office equipment such as phones, computers, copier, fax machine, etc. 3. Ability to multi-task and handle multi-line phone system. 4. Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm, professional manner.
