Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an APP for Tanner Health's Primary Care of West Paulding location. The provider will join a physician at the clinical site and report to the Executive Director of the Primary Care of West Paulding practice. Primary Care of West Paulding is part of Tanner Medical Group which consist of 42 individual practices and has approximately 270 total providers.
This APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide services for patients with primary care issues in the clinic setting under the direction of their supervising physician. He/she will collaborate with other providers while conducting physical exams, diagnose and treat acute and chronic issues, order and interpret diagnostic test including lab work and imaging studies, provide education and counseling to patients while maintaining medical records via

Duties may involve the preparation of data on which the administration bases important decisions and are highly confidential.
Supervisory ResponsibilitySupervises a small section of employees (up to 15), orients and trains employees, schedules, assigns, checks, and maintains flow of employees' work, carries out most personnel decisions, and initiates minor personnel actions. Involves some independent judgment to decide what to do to assemble facts, determine variations from standard procedures, or plan other action to be taken to meet general objectives. Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities. Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.Development:
Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties. Participates in continuing education. Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
Patient Care:
Performs evaluations, provide treatment and counsel patients. Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising physician.Quality:
Maintains evidence based medical care and clinical charting. Participates with clinical tracking and feedback. Integrates with clinical and administrative teams to administer high quality care.
Teamwork:
Works well with others and functions as a team player. Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area. Participates in the training and skills development of new clinical staff. - Georgia Nurse Practitioner License
- Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse or Multistate Nursing License
- Healthcare Provider (CPR)Supervision
- Regularly uses assistance and leads the work of one to four co-employees, may instruct new employees and correct work routines, checks results and may discuss with employee's superior.
- Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
- ACLS recommended.
- Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.

)- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia
- Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN).
