Core Duties:
The role of the Tasting Room Associate to be the primary customer-facing representative and implement retail procedures set by the BMD standard. Tasting Room associates will also follow guidelines set by the Alcohol and Beverage Control Commission.
Duties include the following:
cash management, auditing inventory, performing retail transactions, educating customers on product offerings, opening/closing procedures, data entry, and cleaning. The Tasting Room Associate will embrace continued education as it relates to the beverage industry and be a team player.
Principal Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Tasting Room Associate is to follow Berkshire Mountain Distillers management instructions regarding customer service and cash management. The Tasting Room Associate's duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Inspire excellent customer service, and confidence to create customer loyalty
  • Develop deep knowledge and understanding of Spirits and alcoholic beverages
  • Accurate cash handling and discount application
  • Verification of proper documentation and ID for customers via the TIPS certification program
  • Accurate use and maintenance of the Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Assist customers with purchases
  • Maintenance of an organized and clean store
  • Knowledge and adherence to company policies, state regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Compassionate and strong work ethic
  • Desire and ability to learn about products and their functions
  • Strong attention to detail and must have a team-player mentality
  • Ability to deal with and resolve problems in a professional manner

Essential Work Experience and Qualifications:
  • Exceptional customer services skills; at least 1 year experience in retail strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, Point of Sale Software, and cash management procedures is a must
  • Knowledge about alcoholic beverages: laws, history, culture, and trends of the industry
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations, including weekends Physical Requirements /
Work Environment:
Tasting Room associates must be able to stand for long periods of time with appropriate breaks. Tasting Room Associates will also assist in moving products throughout the facility and must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Job Types:
Part-time Pay rate is negotiable based on experience.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 6.0 - 12.0 per week
