Tasting Room Associate

We are a busy winery in Montgomery County, Maryland and we are looking to grow our team! We are looking for motivated individuals who love to work hard, have fun, and talk about quality wines. This is a part-time, year-round position. Applicants must be available at least three weekend days per month. Some weekday shifts are available as well.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE

Welcoming all guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner. Selling wine and wine club memberships in a professional manner. Working behind the bar pouring wine and hosting wine tastings. Attending monthly weekday evening staff trainings. Maintaining the appearance of the tasting room, patio, and other visitor areas. Continuing to develop your knowledge of wine. Increasing wine club sign-ups. Handling sales transactions on a touch-screen cash register and iPads. Stocking supplies, maintaining restrooms, cleaning tables, taking out garbage, washing glasses, sweeping floors, and other general house-keeping duties as needed. Performing other duties or related activities as assigned by tasting room management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Outstanding customer service including a friendly, courteous, and approachable demeanor. Previous tasting room, restaurant, or retail experience. Must have the ability to handle multiple groups at one time, work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to multi-task. Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Experience with Square POS a plus. Knowledge of wine and viticulture practices a plus.
