Job Description:

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Tax Accountant for an Accounting firm based in NYC. Salary range is up to $80,000 and is hybrid (3-4 days on-site). Our client is a growing professional services firm specializing in accounting and tax solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience across both accounting and tax, with strong mentorship and long-term growth potential. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing and recording journal entries across assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses Perform bank and account reconciliations , identifying and resolving discrepancies Support preparation of federal, state, and sales tax returns for individuals and businesses Maintain organized financial records, workpapers, and supporting documentation Assist with basic tax research and application of regulations Support responses to IRS and state notices by gathering required documentation Provide professional client support, addressing routine inquiries Collaborate with internal team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 1+ years of experience (internships or CPA firm experience highly preferred) Strong Excel skills; experience with QuickBooks or similar software is a plus Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Why Join Strong mentorship and hands-on training in both accounting and tax Clear path for career growth and development Collaborative, team-oriented environment Exposure to a diverse client base
