Tax Analyst, Information Reporting & Withholding (AP Shared Services)

Tax analyst, Information Reporting & Withholding This client is expanding and stabilizing its information reporting and withholding function within AP Shared Services. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely IRS and state filings across a high‑volume vendor population while supporting audit readiness and process improvements. Description What this person will own (Day 1 impact):

• End‑to‑end support of annual 1099, 1042‑S, and California Form 590 reporting
• Collection, validation, and maintenance of W‑9 and W‑8 vendor documentation
• Monitoring vendor payments to determine reportability and withholding requirements
• Preparation support and reconciliation of tax filings to IRS and state agencies
• B‑Notice handling, error resolution, and IRS correspondence support
• Maintenance of compliance calendars and statutory deadlines
• Partnership with Accounts Payable, Vendor Master Data, and Tax teams to ensure data integrity
• Support for internal and external audits, tax inquiries, and special reporting projects
• Contribution to process improvements and automation initiatives within Shared Services Ideal background (strongly preferred):
• Experience in a high‑volume AP Shared Services or centralized tax environment
• Prior work supporting media, entertainment, or large corporate vendor populations
• Exposure to vendor master data governance
• Comfort partnering cross‑functionally with AP, Procurement, Legal, and Tax
• Interest in process improvement and automation, not just compliance What will NOT be a fit (screen‑out guidance):
• Pure public accounting tax prep with no information reporting exposure
• Corporate tax provision / ASC 740-only profiles
• Candidates without hands‑on 1099 / 1042 exposure
• Early‑career AP clerks without tax compliance experience Additional Skills & Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, vendor management, or tax compliance
• IRS 1042, 1099, and California Form 590 knowledge and exposure
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, Excel, and data reconciliation skills
