Tax Preparer/Accountant

Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant Job Overview Campbell's Tax Service Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone interested in building a long-term career in accounting and tax preparation within a fast-paced public accounting environment. We are willing to train the right candidate. Previous experience is preferred but not required for applicants who are motivated, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable working with numbers and clients. The ideal candidate will assist with bookkeeping, payroll, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation for multiple clients. Responsibilities Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses Assist with monthly bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Process payroll and payroll tax filings Communicate with clients to gather documentation and answer questions Organize and clean up client books for year-end tax preparation Utilize accounting software including QuickBooks and Sage Assist clients with tax and accounting needs in a professional manner Maintain confidentiality and comply with firm procedures and tax regulations Qualifications Accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation experience preferred but not required Willingness to learn and be trained Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Basic computer and data entry skills Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks or Sage Previous office or customer service experience Payroll experience Public accounting or bookkeeping experience Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Paid vacation and sick leave Supportive team environment On-the-job training and growth opportunities Flexible off-season schedule
