Role Summary:
The Teacher provides high-quality EL (English Language) instruction aligned to standards for approximately half the day and serves as an At-Risk Interventionist for the remaining portion at the high school. The At-Risk role focuses on Tier 2/Tier 3 support within an MTSS framework, specifically with freshman, using data-driven, evidence-based interventions to accelerate growth in academics and foundational skills for identified students.
Core Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned EL lessons that build reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Differentiate instruction for English Learners Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction. Provide small-group and one-on-one Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions targeting phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing conventions for EL students. Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and families; participate in data meetings, MTSS/RTI meetings, and IEP/504 processes as appropriate. Implement classroom and intervention behavior supports aligned with
PBIS/SEL
practices. Maintain accurate records, intervention logs, and progress monitoring data; communicate regularly with families. Integrate culturally responsive practices and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Participate in professional learning and implement evidence-based literacy practices.
