Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a 5th-grade student in an ASD classroom as a dedicated 1:1 credentialed paraprofessional. Beginning as soon as possible and running through early June 2026—with potential for ESY extension—this role provides meaningful, one-on-one support that directly impacts a young learner's day-to-day success. This position offers 30 hours per week, running from 9:15 am to 3:45 pm, in a single building setting. You'll be working alongside a supportive team, with your primary focus on fostering a safe, engaging environment for your assigned student.
Desired Qualifications:
Active paraprofessional credential required Associate's degree (AA) or higher mandatory Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paraprofessional in educational settings Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred Ability to provide gentle prompting for toileting and manage elopement behaviors Strong communication and individualized instruction skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized assistance to a 5th-grade student in an ASD classroom Provide consistent supervision, including elopement prevention Offer gentle prompts for toileting while supporting independent feeding skills Implement strategies outlined by classroom educators and related service providers Foster a positive and safe learning environment tailored to student needs
