Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated educational team as a Teacher Assistant, where your enthusiasm and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by implementing engaging lesson plans, fostering inclusive learning environments, and assisting students with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. Your energetic approach and strong communication skills will help create a nurturing space that promotes growth, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional development for young learners. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement curriculum tailored to individual student needs, including early childhood education and Montessori methods. Assist in creating a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management and classroom management techniques. Support students with disabilities by adapting instructional materials and activities to meet their IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. Use American Sign Language and other communication strategies to facilitate understanding and engagement for students with communication challenges. Provide hands-on support during literacy education, math activities, toddler care, and preschool lessons to foster foundational skills. Monitor student progress, document observations, and contribute to lesson planning to ensure each child's developmental milestones are met. Maintain a safe, organized environment that encourages active participation, social interaction, and independent learning. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or classrooms involving special education is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management strategies, and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other disabilities is essential. Proficiency in American Sign Language or willingness to learn is a plus. Experience developing curriculum or lesson plans tailored for preschool or toddler care environments is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students. Certification or coursework in special education or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
