Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting K-5 students by providing classroom assistance in a dynamic, life-skill based curriculum setting. This contract role offers the chance to help young learners thrive while working alongside experienced educators and specialists. With a focus on academic, behavioral, and functional support, you'll play a critical part in each student's growth and daily success. The assignment runs from August 2026 through June 2027, with a full-time schedule of 32 hours per week.
Desired qualifications and experience:
Valid Educational Technician II or III certification required—please ensure your cert is current. Previous experience supporting K-5 students, ideally in a life skills or special education setting. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families. Reliability and flexibility to respond to classroom needs as they arise. Comfortable implementing IEP or 504 accommodations and collecting relevant student data. Positive, patient, and responsive approach with children of varying abilities.
Key responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers with individualized and small group instruction focused on life skills, academics, or behavioral goals. Support daily classroom routines, transitions, and learning activities. Help implement behavior support plans and strategies, providing encouragement and consistent feedback. Track student progress and contribute to team meetings or planning discussions. Provide help with daily living skills, social interactions, and fostering a safe, positive environment. Maintain good communication with team members, supporting overall program goals.
