Teacher - Benld Head Start

Illinois Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC) is looking to hire a Full Time Teacher for its Head Start Center in Benld. (Position to start on 8/03/2026.)

Responsibilities:

Teach children, ages 3-5, with structured activities in a classroom setting Plan and prepare lesson plans and activities that contribute to children's growth and development Assess children on an ongoing basis utilizing approved assessment tools.

Required Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Other degrees considered but individual must have a minimum of 21 semester hours in child development courses with willingness to obtain 30 semester hours within 2 years. Prior training and experience in comprehensive child development programs is desirable. Ability to relate positively to children and parents. Ability to work as a team member. Must have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to successfully pass a background check. This is a full time position during the normal school year (August to May). Would be eligible for unemployment during the two months off with no disruption in benefits. This position includes excellent benefits and generous vacation, personal and sick time accruals, as well as 12 paid holidays per year.
