Assist in the discipline of all students in all grades including communicating with parent/guardians of students receiving office discipline referrals. Conduct investigations in collaboration with administration. Support teachers and students in restoring relationships after office discipline referrals. Maintains accurate disciplinary records and coordinate student data for required reporting. Participate in school-based meetings with social workers, school counselors, and administration as well as Instructional Support Team meetings when necessary. Responsible for and supervise detention before, after and during school, coverage of cafeteria during lunches, and conduct parent conferences. Is required to work beyond the regular school day to meet with parents, individual or groups of students and staff and perform other duties as directed by the Principal or Assistant Principals Observe teachers' classroom practices to identify any gaps in teachers' classroom management and classroom culture. Based on the observed classroom practices, provide teachers with feedback on managing student behavior and creating effective classroom learning environments. Coach teachers on behavior management strategies in support of the school-wide plan, facilitate student groups to develop student skills. Work with teachers to problem-solve specific classroom management and classroom culture challenges. Coordinate, when necessary, present appropriate grant work and/or professional development strategies.Qualifications Required:
A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment; Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers Ability to work with diverse population; Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment; Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful Citizenship, residency or work visa requiredQualifications Preferred:
Bilingual Spanish Moderate DisabilitiesTerms:
