Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a powerful impact as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) by supporting K-12+ students across a vibrant educational community near Soddy Daisy, TN. This full-time contract role offers the chance to provide specialized instruction, encourage independence, and work collaboratively with school staff. There's also potential for a virtual opportunity for candidates who bring at least five years of proven experience delivering remote TVI services. Schedules may be tailored to accommodate both full-time (35 hours/week) and part-time availability.
Qualifications:
Active DOE teaching certification required Previous experience as a TVI; for virtual consideration, a minimum of 5 years in a remote TVI role is required Proficiency with Braille and assistive technology, especially accessing resources through the Federal Quota program (preferred) Experience supporting a caseload across various settings, including both general education and special education classrooms Familiarity with the TN Pulse platform for IEP documentation and participation in IEP meetings Comfortable with Chrome OS and integrating technology into instruction Completion of fingerprinting as part of credentialing process
