A fulfilling opportunity awaits for a skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired who values hands-on instruction and adaptable scheduling. This full-time, itinerant position invites you to foster meaningful growth across multiple educational settings, working directly with students and collaborating with dedicated school professionals. The assignment is contract-based and conducted in person, with potential hybrid scheduling options available for qualified candidates.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Washington State certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in K-12 settings Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), assessments, and instructional strategies tailored to various visual abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills when engaging with students, staff, and families Comfortable traveling between multiple school locations as required Committed to fostering independence, access, and confidence for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and consultation services for students with visual impairments in diverse learning environments Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to promote student success Conduct assessments and evaluations as part of the IEP process Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for accessibility and inclusion Provide ongoing professional development and resources to staff regarding visual impairments and assistive technology Become an influential voice in special education, helping all students reach their full potential.
