Send job Job Details Job DescriptionJob Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Empower students with visual impairments to achieve their highest potential in this meaningful contracted position supporting learners across multiple school settings. As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you'll play an integral role in customizing educational experiences, advocating for inclusive access, and collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals for the 2026-2027 academic year. This part-time opportunity begins July 27th, 2026 and continues through May 25th, 2027, offering approximately 20 hours per week. You'll provide direct instruction and consultation within several educational environments, ensuring each student receives the individualized support they need to thrive.
Desired Qualifications:
Special Education - Visual Impairment (P-12) teaching certificate OR Special Education certificate with Visual Impairment endorsement (required) Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, preferably in educational settings In-depth knowledge of adaptive curriculum, assistive technology, and Braille instruction Strong communication and collaborative skills with educators, families, and related service providers Commitment to nurturing student independence, confidence, and academic success
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and create accessible learning materials for students with visual impairments Conduct assessments and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to adapt curricula and promote inclusion Recommend assistive technologies and modifications based on students' needs Provide training and ongoing support for staff and caregivers This position offers a rewarding chance to make a genuine impact on the lives of students while working in a flexible, part-time contract format.
