Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference by using your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students in a dynamic contract role. This position involves delivering specialized DHH services for a small group of students, ensuring they receive tailored instruction and accommodations to help them thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, or eligibility for certification Strong understanding of instructional strategies and communication methods for DHH learners Experience or training in providing direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and school personnel Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs related to auditory needs Compassionate, flexible, and committed to inclusive educational practices
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver DHH services to a select number of students, incorporating individualized goals Assess students' communication and educational needs, adapting lessons as necessary Provide consultative support to teachers and staff regarding hearing loss accommodations Engage families in the educational process, offering guidance and resources Maintain accurate documentation of progress and compliance with special education guidelines Foster an accessible and welcoming classroom or service environment
