Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a contract opportunity supporting a 5th-grade student in an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classroom as a dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional. This position offers the chance to make a real impact in a school setting near Strongsville, OH, while working closely with one student and collaborating with a passionate educational team. Your compassion, attention to detail, and experience will help this student thrive in their daily routine. You'll play a vital role by providing individualized instruction, maintaining a safe environment—particularly with elopement risks—and supporting the student's independence with feeding. You'll also assist with prompting toileting needs. Applicants must start as soon as possible and will work through June 3, 2026, with a potential opportunity for extended summer employment based on performance. This role is ideal for a credentialed paraprofessional looking to enrich their career while focusing on one-on-one educational support.
Qualifications:
Active paraprofessional credential required Associate's degree or higher Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paraprofessional Experience providing 1:1 support, preferably in an ASD classroom Ability to follow individualized instruction plans and safely manage elopement risks Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one educational and behavioral support Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individualized plans Prompt student with toileting needs Encourage safe movement, redirect as needed, and foster independence Support a positive and inclusive classroom environment This role offers a consistent weekday schedule: 30 hours per week, 6-hour days (9:15am-3:45pm), all within a single building.
