Teachers Assistant

Montessori Children's House is seeking a teacher's assistant for their Montessori primary program, who demonstrates strong leadership abilities by creating and maintaining positive relationships with the children, families and staff.

Essential Functions:

Creating a classroom that is fun and supports play, exploration and learning Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment Advancing students physical and intellectual competence Supporting social and emotional development and providing both positive guidance and reinforcement Maintaining a commitment of professionalism with students, families, peers and management Assist the teacher to ensure operation of the center meets all state licensing and accreditation standards, policies and procedures Maintain the mission and philosophy of Montessori Children's House Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with the children, families and staff Participate and provide leadership for the planning and implementation of annual program goals

Qualifications and Experience:

High school diploma Associate's Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development (Preferred) Have a minimum of two years of experience in a pre-k classroom A well-developed philosophy on the education of young children, which parallels the educational philosophy of
