Teacher/Site Director - Head Start

Illinois Valley Economic Development Corporation is in search of a Full-Time Teacher/Site Director for our Head Start Center in Carlinville. (Position to start on 8/03/2026.)

Responsibilities:

Will teach children, ages 3-5, with structured activities in a classroom setting at our Virden Head Start facility. Will also plan and prepare lesson plans and activities that contribute to children's growth and development. Will assess children on an ongoing basis utilizing approved assessment tools. This position will also act as site director for this location.

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelors degree in child development or early childhood education. Other degrees are acceptable if they include 21 hours in early childhood related classes. This is a full-time position during the normal school year (August to May). Would be eligible for unemployment during the two months off with no disruption in benefits.
