Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-focused Technical Accountant to identify, assess, and resolve complex accounting matters (e.g., revenue, acquisitions/goodwill, commission and revenue/accrual matching and Capex, etc.) across the organization. This role is designed as a build-and-transition function: the individual will take ownership of technical accounting areas, work through research and implementation, improve and document processes and procedures, and ultimately transition ongoing ownership to operational accounting teams. In addition, this role will support audit readiness and financial reporting by addressing technical accounting and reporting requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable standards. This role would also be involved in preparing the audited financial statements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Accounting & Research Identify and evaluate complex accounting areas (e.g., leases, debt, equity compensation, internally developed software, goodwill/intangible impairments, revenue recognition, etc.) Research applicable accounting guidance and draft clear, well-supported technical memos Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Legal, Operations) to understand transaction flows and business impacts Process Improvement & Implementation Design, implement, and enhance accounting processes related to technical areas to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability Develop comprehensive documentation, including accounting policies, process narratives, and standard operating procedures Design processes to establish appropriate internal controls or other compliance requirements Translate technical conclusions into practical, repeatable and efficient workflows for the accounting team, train and transition ownership of stabilized processes to designated accountants. Coach accounting staff Identifying areas and processes which would reduce accounting close period. Serve as a subject matter expert during and after transition to ensure continuity Audit & Financial Reporting Support Act as a key liaison with external auditors on technical accounting matters Prepare and review audit-ready documentation, schedules, etc. Support the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with applicable disclosure standards Execution Manage multiple technical accounting projects simultaneously, prioritizing based on risk and business impact Track progress, communicate status updates, and escalate issues as needed
Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred [DF1] [BH2] 6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent preferred) Deep knowledge of US GAAP Experience designing and implementing accounting processes and controls Experience working with auditors and supporting financial statement preparation

Proven ability to research complex accounting issues and document conclusions clearly Ability to balance technical accounting with operational efficiency Strong organizational skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable guidance Strong attention to detail with a focus on both accuracy and practicality Collaborative mindset
Work Environment :
Office setting with a moderate noise level. The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.
Physical Demands :
Must be able to remain seated for extended periods. Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines. Occasional movement around the office. Frequent communication via telephone.
